Ingredients
- 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
- ¼ cup warm water
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 4 to 4½ cups all purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup white sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup melted unsalted butter
- ½ cup cream cheese, softened (112 grams)
- 1¼ cups icing sugar
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp softened unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Grease the pan with butter. Set aside.
- Dissolve yeast with warm water and 1 tsp of sugar. Set aside.
- In the bowl of a standing mixer fitted with a dough hook, add sugar and salt.
- Add 4 cups of flour. Mix until the dough is smooth.
- Mix in milk, egg, butter, and yeast mixture.
- Cover with towel or plastic and let it rise until double in size. Prepare the filling.
- In a small bowl, combine sugars and cinnamon.
- Once the dough has doubled in size,roll it out onto a floured surface into a 15x9” rectangle by using a rolling pin.
- Spread the butter over the dough.
- Spread the filling over the dough.
- Roll the dough.
- Cut the the dough into 12 and place in a greased rectangle pan.
- Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes. Brush the top with the remaining butter.
- Bake at 375° for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Prepare the Cream Cheese Glaze.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, butter, icing sugar, vanilla and milk.
- Let the cinnamon rolls cool for five minutes.
- Spread the cream cheese glaze on top of the rolls.
