Pulled Pork Bun

PULLED PORK BUN
Baked bun is similar to the Filipino Siopao. As the name signifies, it is a bun filled with cooked pulled pork and then baked unlike siopao, which is steamed.
Ingredients
- 2¼ tsp active dry yeast
- ¼ cup water, warmth
- 3 tsp sugar
- 3½ cups all purpose flour
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ½ cup milk, warm
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk to brush dough
- pulled pork
Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve yeast with water and 1 tsp sugar. Set aside until it bubbles.
- In a larger bowl, mix together flour, sugar and salt. Then add butter, egg and milk.
- Add yeast mixture.
- Cover bowl with a plastic and let it rise for an hour.
- Divide the dough into 12.
- Use the rolling pin to spread the dough into rectangular shape.
- Pre heat oven to 350°F,
- Add the pulled pork. Then close the dough. Do to the rest of the dough. Cover with plastic and set aside for 30 minutes.
- Brush with egg yolk before baking.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
