Yema Candy

Yema is a sweet candy that is made from egg yolks, condensed milk and ground peanuts (optional). "Yema" is a Spanish word for egg yolks. I believe this is one of the influences of Spanish rule in the Philippines.

I really like the sweetness of yema especially if it has peanuts in it. However, every Filipino knows it is hard to eat because it is tightly wrapped in cellophane. It is so sticky that you end up eating even the wrapper.

This recipe is very easy to make and instead of making the usual pyramid shape, it is easier to just roll it like a ball and place in mini cupcake wrappers.
