Basic Crepe

A crepe is the thinner version of a pancake. Just like a pancake, its ingredients are very simple: flour, butter, sugar, milk and eggs.

This is the basic crepe recipe which my daughters would eat with nutella or peanut butter. It is best to serve it right away while its hot.

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1¼ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter
  1. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt.

  2. Make a well in the center, break in the eggs.

  3. Add half of the milk and use a whisk to gradually work into the flour. Don't over mix, beat lightly until smooth.

  4. Add the rest of the milk until combined.Stir in the melted butter.

  5. Brush the frying pan with butter and heat until hot.

  6. Pour about ¼ cup batter and tilt the pan from side to side so the batter is spread thinly and evenly.

  7. Place the pan on medium heat and cook for about 1 minute and turn on the other side.
