Chocolate Crinkles

Chocolate Crinkles is my favorite holiday cookie. It is soft, fudgy and delicious. I always remember chocolate crinkles during Christmas time in the Philippines.

Ingredients

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup icing sugar

Instructions

Cookie Dough
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place silicone mat or parchment paper on the baking sheet.
  2. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Set aside.
  3. In a standing mixer with paddle attachment, combine sugar and eggs.
  4. Add oil and vanilla.
  5. Add dry ingredients. Mix until well blended.
  6. Cover with plastic and refrigerate dough for at least an hour.
  7. Use an ice cream scooper to form the dough into 1 inch balls.
  8. Roll in icing sugar then put them on the baking sheets.
  9. Bake until cookie cracks on top or around 15 minutes. Don't over bake. The center should still be soft.

Notes

Chill the dough for at least an hour before baking.
